USCIS Acceptance Guarantee 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3) compliant Signed Certificate of Accuracy Thousands of official documents translated Secure and confidential

A birth certificate (certidão de nascimento) is the most common document USCIS asks for. We translate the full certificate, including the registry book and page numbers, the official seal, and any back-page notes such as a name change or correction. For USCIS, use the full inteiro teor version rather than the short summary, and we translate every field on it.

We match the names and dates to your application exactly, because a small mismatch is one of the most common reasons a file gets held up.

Your translation is handled and signed personally by Ivy, a native Brazilian Portuguese speaker, and it comes with the signed Certificate of Accuracy USCIS requires under 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3).

Everything USCIS requires, included in every order

Complete English translation The entire document, including stamps, seals, registry numbers, and back-page notes.
Certification of completeness and accuracy A signed Certificate of Accuracy meeting 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3), attached to every order.
Translator competence statement The certification states the translator is competent to translate Portuguese to English.
Signature, printed name, and contact Signed and dated, with full contact details, formatted to match your original.

    The USCIS Acceptance Guarantee

Every Brazilian birth certificate translation we deliver is backed by our USCIS acceptance guarantee. If USCIS rejects it because of our translation or certification, we fix it free within 24 hours or refund your order in full.

    Questions

    Common questions

How much does it cost to translate a Brazilian birth certificate?

It is $19 per page, and a page is up to 250 words, so a birth certificate is priced on its actual word count and not on how many sheets of paper it is. The whole certificate counts, front and back, including the stamps, seals, and any averbação in the margin, because all of that gets translated. The exact total shows before you pay on the quote page, with no account and no card needed.

My Brazilian birth certificate is the old handwritten kind. Can you still translate it?

Yes. Ivy is a native Portuguese speaker, so the older cartório handwriting and its abbreviations are familiar ground, and she signs the certification on every order herself. Send the clearest photo you can of every page, front and back, since the stamps, seals, and marginal notes are translated along with the entry itself. If a word on your copy looks unreadable, send it to WhatsApp +1 405 850 0892 first and Ivy will look at it before you order.

Should I order a new segunda via before getting my certidão de nascimento translated?

Order the segunda via first if you need a recently issued copy, because we translate the exact copy you send, issue date and registry details and all. A certificate you request later will not match the translation you already paid for. Once the right copy is in hand, delivery is within 24 hours, or 4 hours with rush at $9 per page extra.

The name on my Brazilian birth certificate is spelled differently than my passport. What happens?

We translate the name exactly as it appears on the certificate, letter for letter, and we do not adjust the spelling to match your passport. If the certificate carries an averbação recording a name change or a correction, that marginal note is translated too, so both spellings appear in the same document. Point out the difference when you upload and Ivy will confirm that note is included.

Do I need a tradução juramentada of my birth certificate for USCIS?

No. A tradução juramentada is a Brazilian domestic process and it is not what USCIS asks for, and a translated document does not need to be notarized either. What USCIS wants is the complete certificate in English, stamps and marginal notes included, with a signed Certificate of Accuracy that meets 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3). There is more on the difference in sworn translation for USCIS.
