Will USCIS accept a translation of my Brazilian cartório documents?

Do my Brazilian documents need an apostille before you translate them?
No. An apostille is a separate step from translation, and we do not issue them, so you can send your Brazilian documents with or without one. If your copy already has an apostille attached, we translate that page too, at the same $19 a page. Check with the office receiving your papers, because some ask for an apostille and some do not.
Do I need a tradução juramentada for my Brazilian documents in the US?
No. A tradução juramentada is a Brazilian sworn translation, and it is not what USCIS asks for. For a certidão, an RG, or a diploma, USCIS wants a complete English translation with a signed Certificate of Accuracy, and that is what every order includes. Do you translate the averbações in the margin of a certidão?
Yes, every one of them, along with the stamps, the seals, and anything printed on the back. Leaving a margin note out hands the officer an incomplete certidão, so we translate the page exactly as it reaches us. Ivy is a native Portuguese speaker, reads those margin notes herself, and signs the certification.
