USCIS requires every foreign-language document to come with a complete English translation and a signed statement that the translation is complete and accurate, under 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3). That is exactly what we deliver, on every order.
The documents USCIS asks for most are the birth certificate, the marriage certificate, and for some filings a death certificate or criminal record. On a deadline, our same-day Portuguese translation covers a 4-hour rush.
It does not need to be notarized, and your translator does not need to be ATA-certified. The signed Certificate of Accuracy is what USCIS is looking for, and it is backed by our acceptance guarantee.
The person doing your translation is Ivy, a native Portuguese speaker from Brazil. She signs the Certificate of Accuracy on every order, which is the certification 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3) requires.
Everything USCIS requires, included in every order
I had my birth certificate translated for immigration. They delivered it to me in a few hours, super fast. Fair price and USCIS accepted it without any hassle. I have no complaints. I recommend them.
The USCIS Acceptance Guarantee
Every Portuguese translation for USCIS documents we deliver is backed by our USCIS acceptance guarantee. If USCIS rejects your translation because of our work, we correct and redeliver it free within 24 hours. If the corrected translation is still not accepted because of our work, we refund your order in full.
The guarantee covers our work. It does not cover a decision USCIS makes about your case for other reasons.
Common questions
What exactly does USCIS require in a Portuguese translation?
A complete English translation of the whole Portuguese document, plus a signed statement from the translator that the translation is complete and accurate and that they are competent to translate from Portuguese. That is what 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3) asks for, and it is what the signed Certificate of Accuracy included with every order covers. See USCIS translation requirements for the full breakdown.
Who can certify a Portuguese translation for USCIS?
Any translator competent in Portuguese and English who signs the certification. USCIS does not require notarization, an ATA-certified translator, or a Brazilian tradução juramentada, which is a different thing and not what USCIS wants. Ivy is a native Portuguese speaker and signs every certification herself. If you were planning to translate your own paperwork, read can I translate my own document for USCIS first.
Which USCIS forms need a Portuguese translation?
No form decides it on its own, the document you attach does. Any Portuguese-language document you file as evidence needs a complete English translation with it, whatever form it supports. If you are not sure which of your documents count, the document checklist generator helps you list them.
What happens if USCIS sends an RFE about my translation?
Send the RFE to us and we fix the translation. If USCIS rejects your translation because of our work, we correct and redeliver it free within 24 hours. If the corrected translation is still not accepted because of our work, we refund your order in full. More detail is on USCIS RFE for translation.
Do you need my original Brazilian document, or is a copy enough?
A clear copy is enough. Upload a scan or photo of every page through the secure form or by WhatsApp, including the back side and any marginal notes (averbações). We translate everything on the image, stamps and seals included, and it comes back with the signed Certificate of Accuracy at $19 per page.
