What this checks
It confirms one thing: whether Brazil USA Translations actually issued that certificate. A match returns the date we issued it, the kind of document it covered, and the name of the translator who signed it.
It deliberately does not return the client’s name or anything about their case. A certificate number on its own should never expose whose documents were translated, so this page cannot be used to fish for that.
What to do if a certificate does not verify
Treat it as unverified and contact us. A certificate that fails this check was not issued by us, whatever it appears to say. That matters most to attorneys and adjudicators, who can confirm a document’s origin here without waiting on an email from anybody.
If you are our client and your certificate does not verify, tell us straight away and we will reissue it.
Why we do this
A certified translation for USCIS carries a named human being’s signature. Under 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3) the translator certifies in writing that the translation is complete and accurate and that they are competent to translate from the foreign language into English. Ivy signs every one of ours herself.
A signature on a document is only worth what it can be checked against. This page is that check. It also means anyone attempting to pass off work as ours is caught the moment somebody looks.
